49ers' former No 3 draft pick Trey Lance draws interest from CFL team

The San Francisco 49ers traded a 2021 first-round pick and two future first-round and third-round picks to the Miami Dolphins to select quarterback Trey Lance No. 3 in the draft that year.

The team seemingly thought Lance was the quarterback of their future. He was a standout quarterback at North Dakota State, throwing for 2,786 yards and 28 touchdown passes while rushing for 1,100 more yards in his lone full season with the Bison in 2019.
